As Nux exclaimed in the film Mad Max: Fury Road: “Oh, what a day… what a lovely day!”
Lovely indeed as TGEFM is hyped to premiere the new LP from Calgary hardcore act Citizen Rage. Harsh Reality is the band’s debut LP, and is out now via the excellent people over at Cursed Blessings. When asked to speak on the album, Mark Russel has this to say:
Harsh Reality unearths a multitude of emotions, laying bare the unforgiving truths of our existence. It delves into the depths of government-led genocides, the heart-wrenching loss of friends to suicide or drug addiction. This album serves as a raw depiction of the genuine world we inhabit, stripping away the glossy facade of the filtered reality we encounter on a daily basis
Harsh Reality is available on a plethora of streaming and purchase options, all of which you can find at this link page.
Did you think Citizen Rage were done with you yet? Hell no! The band is also on tour starting to support the new album starting tonight! So check the tour poster out below, see if they’re coming to your town and, if not, drive to the nearest stop. Trust us, it’ll be worth the trip.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
