Philadelphia’s Oh, Are They have returned with their new LP, co-produced by the band and J. Robbins. While Guilt doesn’t officially drop until Friday, TGEFM has the good fortune to premiere it in its entirety for you right here, right now.
The quartet typically blends from indie rock to post-hardcore, and plenty more in between (unsurprising considering members having performed previously with KRHISSY, Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, I Am Alaska, The G, and more). Their distinctive sound was on full display in the previously released i and ii. But, while those records were focused on lore and legends, Guilt finds the band exploring more personal narratives.
Vocalist and guitarist Adam Eckhoff explains:
“If anxiety is a result of agonizing over your future, you could argue ‘Guilt’ is its polar opposite. This record is about coming to terms with your choices, facing your insecurities head-on and persevering through sheer determination. We put everything into this record and I couldn’t be more proud of it and us for being strong enough to be vulnerable. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to listen and inspires us to keep moving forward.”

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
