Scott Radinsky has spent decades living in two very different worlds… as the voice of punk band Pulley (also Ten Foot Pole and Scared Straight) and as a former Major League Baseball pitcher. In this episode of Almost Punk Enough, Bad Dad sits down with Scott ahead of Camp Punksylvania to talk about how those parallel lives shaped his approach to creativity, performance and identity.
They get into the mindset shifts between closing out games on the mound and stepping on stage in front of a punk crowd and how Pulley has managed to stay active and grounded through changing eras of the scene. Scott also reflects on touring, longevity and what keeps him motivated after years of performing and competing at a high level.
The conversation touches on authenticity in punk, the realities of life on the road versus life in professional baseball and how success looks different when you’ve already lived multiple careers in one lifetime. It’s a wide-ranging, honest look at a uniquely built career and a band still pushing forward.

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
