What perfect timing! Last week TGEFM took to social media to ask people what one Propagandhi song they’d use to introduce someone to the band (the picks of which ended up on a Spotify playlist).
Today, Mikey and His Uke (aka Mikey Hawdon of Fairmounts) brings together another star-studded cast of musicians to cover “Back to the Motor League”, which got a LOT of votes in our poll. Steve Rawles (Belvedere), Chris Rest (Lagwagon, RKL), Tyler Rebbe (Pulley), and Tony Palermo (Papa Roach) join Mikey for this raucous cover. It sticks pretty true to the source, but there’s enough individual flair (and Rawles’ singular voice) to make this a great cover.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
