New Jersey based Bamboozle Festival’s website went live yesterday and announced it will return in 2023 for a 20th anniversary celebration. Running from 2003-2012, the original incarnation, descending from the Surf and Skate Festival featured a wide array of scene and un-scene performers including Foo Fighters, Kesha, Bon Jovi, Blink 182, The Gaslight Anthem and Motley Crue to name a diverse few.
In a Myspace-styled site design, the page included quite a few cryptic clues including a desire to meet festival alum Travis Barker and a Myspace radio loading the recently disbanded Daft Punk‘s “One More Time.” Long time fans of the festival know the promoters do not often make unintended references.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
