Blind Adam and the Federal League release video for “There Was A Ballgame”

Chicago’s Americana-tinged punks have released a lyric video for their song “There Was A Ballgame”. That track comes from their LP An Act Of Desperation, released in Sep 2021 via A-F Records.

Vocalist/guitarist Adam Gogola says about the song:

The song was written as a letter to my grandmother who sadly passed away in 1996. She was a huge Cubs fan, and some of my best childhood memories were celebrating Chicago sports with her – especially the Chicago Cubs. Donald Trump was elected less than one week after the Cubs finally won the 2016 World Series with the direct help of club owners, The Ricketts, who are actively involved in GOP and MAGA politics. Baseball is supposed to be for the people, but it has been a long time since I felt at home at Wrigley Field.

BA&TFL has had a regular rotating cast of characters rotating around the fore of Adam and bassist/vocalist Alex Simotes. The current lineup of the band features guitarist Nick Cvijovic (Butchered), guitarist Tim Schumann (Loss Leader), and Athen Erbter (Boob Sweat, Ugly Flannel) on drums.

The band also has a few gigs lined up, including an appearance at the Fest and then two gigs in Chicago and Detroit with Anti-Flag, We Are The Union.
