I tell you, I’ve lived in France, and this song is 100% accurate.
Montréal punk/post-hardcore band Cell Press look to follow up their 2020 self-titled debut EP and a 2021 split with their first LP Cages. tagging along with that announcement is the first single (and final track on the album) “Things They Do in France.” The song mixes some playful interludes with some grinding hardcore and lot of yelling.
Release date for the LP is 08 Mar 2024, and will be out via The Ghost is Clear Records, with No List Records also providing copies on cassette. Visit the Cell Press Bandcamp to preorder on digital, TGICR store for vinyl, and the No List for that cassette preorder. Cell Press also has a Spotify page, but it appears this single ain’t there just yet.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
