Spanish-language street punks Mokosos (who self-describe as “chaos punk” and, yeah, it checks out) shine with their new single “Brilla.” I don’t speak Spanish well at all outside of the lyrics to “La Bamba” (the only thing I remember from 7th grade Spanish class), but I can tell a rough and raw punk song when I hear it, and this is one of those songs. Noisy, poor sound, lots of pounding beats. It sounds like it has been recorded from cassette to cassette too many damn times. It’s great.
The single follows up May’s El Kaos No Termina EP from this past May. You can check out the single below, and visit Mokosos’ Bandcamp or Spotify pages to hear more.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
