Jersey Interchange, a collective of Garden State musicians coming together to cover classic songs from the local punk, ska and hardcore scenes, has released their version of the Weston track “Just Like Kurt.”
This week comedian and Taylor Ham advocate Chris Gethard shows his range on the cover track with accompaniment by an unnamed stereotypical Jersey bro who may or may not be internet pre-troll Somekid (who also sounds near identical to Gethard himself).
Yes Weston is from Pennsylvania, yes Gethard knows, no it doesn’t matter.
Gethard can currently be found hosting the Beautiful/Anonymous podcast, hosting the Dark Side of The Ring After the Bell on Vice TV or in his guest appearances on episodes of The Office or Parks and Recreation.
Previous Jersey Interchange collaborations feature members of Midtown, Folly, and The Ergs among others covering the likes Bigwig, Lanemeyer, and Lifetime.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
