Canadian hardcore vets Comeback Kid pay tribute to Mr. Chi Pig and SNFU‘s contributions to hardcore across the Great White North and worldwide on their rendition of “Reality is a Ride on the Bus.” The SNFU track originally appeared on the 1993 Epitaph LP Something Green and Leafy This Way Comes.
The hardcore world was saddened to hear that the SNFU frontman (real name Kendall Chinn) passed away on 16 July.
The song is available for purchase on Bandcamp with 100% of the proceeds being donated to Ray-Cam Co-operative Centre which offers low cost programs to youth, families and seniors who live in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver area, one of Canada’s poorest postal codes. Programs are geared towards meeting the challenges of the community, including food security, safety and the educational, social and recreational needs of members.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
