Nashville’s Dad Hats have a new video “Super Bowl Sunday”. The track can be found on the indie-punks’ outstanding full-length Spill, out now from Mind Over Matter Records.
According to the band,
“‘Super Bowl Sunday’ was the last song written for the record, this was the only song we didn’t have a full demo for before hitting the studio. The lyrics are a juxtaposition of two dates over a decade apart. One where you think you lose everything by thieves, and the second when you have a child and it makes you see things completely differently. Both dates just happened to be Super Bowl Sundays. A summary of the theme would be: ‘When you thought you lost everything, and then you were given everything.'”

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
