Chicago punk legend and Alkaline Trio co-vocalist Dan Andriano, has stepped out of The Emergency Room with his newly announced band, Dan Andriano & The Bygones, featuring Dylan and Randy Moore (Get Married).
In addition to announcing the new group, Dan Andriano & The Bygones have also dropped the self-produced, debut single “Sea Level” on Epitaph Records. Of the new track Andriano explains,
“I recently had my first taste of elevation sickness being higher up in the Rockies than I’d ever been. As we were boarding the flight home I thought aloud to my wife, ‘Just get me back to sea level’. By the time I had found my seat, I was thinking to myself, that’s not a bad metaphor for what I’ve been searching for mentally, which is a better awareness of myself and trying to identify sooner when I’m spinning out or sinking down.”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
