Aussie rockers Dear Seattle have dropped the final single form the forthcoming record Someday.
“Paranoid Letter” will feature on the upcoming release, due 2 September from Domestic La La.
Brae Fischer explains the new song’s origins:
vocalist Brae Fisher states:
“Written on a trip away back in 2020, Paranoid Letter is one of my favourites from the record as it feels deeply personal. The instrumentation is unlike anything DS has tried in the past, and the lyrics bounce around from first and second person in an almost disorienting fashion to try and give some insight into the headspace I was occupying at the time.
Deep in a haze of imposter syndrome and creative blockages, I found myself becoming increasingly paranoid that everything I had worked for would soon be pulled out from under me. Like people would suddenly decide my creative efforts weren’t relevant anymore. I had never applied so much negative pressure to myself before, and I was honestly just trying to find a way through it when the premise of this song came about.
It’s a letter I wrote to myself to help make sense of why I felt like it was all going to fall apart.”

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
