Charlotte punks, Dollar Signs, have announced they will be releasing their new record, Legend Tripping on 27 October from Self Aware Records. The record comes following a crowdfunding effort earlier this year, raising $25,000 for the new release. You can pre-order the record here.
To celebrate the record announcement, the band has released the new single and video for “Bless Your Heart.” Songwriter Erik Button says of the new single:
“This song is about the ways we try to fill that big ol’ hole in ourselves and how a lot of people think they have the answer of how to cement that fucker closed but I’m not sure there is a simple solution to it. Healing is hard, nonlinear and painful but worthwhile. It’s a messy business but hopefully a harmonized guitar solo can mend at least the corners of your tear.”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
