“Rock,” the debut EP by Los Angeles’ Monk, is laid on a foundation of early-80s punk rock, while mixing in other genres as needed. Except for the length of the songs, I’ve very much reminded of early Circle Jerks with the urgency of the music. Pick it up digitally at Bandcamp, or stream at Spotify.
