Michigan trio saturdays at your place label themselves as emo, but there’s a lot more under that hood with a surprisingly eclectic and exciting sound. I’m just saying that if you’re the type of person who’s just like “I don’t like emo” and ignores it, you do so at your own peril.
always cloudy (everything is always lowercase with this band) is their newest EP, out via No Sleep Records, and follows up a couple of singles going back to their Oct 2021 LP something worth celebrating. Seriously, take a listen. There’s a lot of fun here (the guitars in “fetch” remind me of Talking Heads, in a good way). You can try the Bandcamps or the Spotifys for your listening pleasure.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
