“Lachrymose dance music” duo Vempire deliver Past Lives. One half of this pairing is the incomparable Lindsey Yoneda and the other half is none other than That’s Good Enough for Me’s own site and podcast contributor, Mike Elfers, so you know it’s got style (and probably a lot of self-aware cuntiness). Between Lindsey’s upcoming wedding and the year winding down, you’d think they’d need to rest… but no, they’re helping fill your playlists with a new EP, Past Lives.
Just when you thought New Invincible had settled into legend, the band’s global network of sonic mad scientists struck again. Vempire has brought about so many remixes that they simply couldn’t fit them all in one release. Enter Past Lives, a gloriously weird, lovingly reimagined collection featuring remixes and reimaginings of some of our previous material from friends in Minnesota’s Toilet Rats, Kansas City’s Brody Lowe, Permadeaf (Machete Archive‘s Ryan Thomas,) Domestica’s Pawl Tisdale, and others.

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
