Canada’s Avem, they of the bird-themed punk rock, have a new video from their recent EP. “Puffin Toss.” Like many Avem songs, this one ties its themes into the human disruption of nature’s rhythms.
Puffin Toss relates addiction to the true story of baby puffins (pufflings) being drawn to light pollution of cities and towns at night rather than following the moonlight to the ocean. These lost pufflings die without the intervention of humans, who toss them off the cliffs so they can safely make it out to the ocean.
The song is the final track from their Nerdin’ About Birdin’ EP, which released this past April. You can pick it up from Mom’s Basement or over at Bandcamp.
The band will also be playing some stand-alone gigs in the coming months, as well as their US tour supporting Booze & Glory. Check out the dates and ticket links for this shows below.
