Jersey Interchange, a collective of Garden State musicians coming together to cover classic songs from the local punk, ska and hardcore scenes, has released their version of the super infectious “Everything Falls Apart (and More)” by The Ergs! off of 2004’s criminally under-rated Dork Rock Cork Rod.
This week, Shawn McGovern of your favorite pop-punk band’s favorite pop-punk band The Youth Ahead and Jersey virtuoso Heath Saraceno (Midtown, Senses Fail) joins Jersey Interchange mastermind Christian Lesperance (Never Again)for the cover track.
The Youth Ahead is preparing to release Better Late Than Never on 2 October. The album is full of unreleased songs from an unfinished album over 15 years ago, demos and cover songs. Pre-order your copy here.
Previous Jersey Interchange collaborations feature members of Bigwig, Folly, and The June Spirit among others covering the likes Misfits, Weston, and Lifetime.
Thanks to archivist Joe Pulito (Break Away, Slurp 37) doing the Lord’s work, you can find many of the original tracks along with the entire discography of the Jersey Interchange at the ultra-expansive NJPP Archives here.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
