A look back at some of the stories we missed.
Occasionally TGEFM misses the boat on news by bands both big and small (mostly small)- including new music releases, new album announcements, and anything in-between. To make up for it, the semi-regular Fell Through the Cracks feature will give a brief blurb and links so you can check it out!
Before Nitrogen – “Dear Kenosha” music video
Milewaukee’s Before Nitrogen‘s new single “Before Kenosha” was released at the beginning of the month. The band has provided links to the video, and has asked fans to donate to one of several fundraisers for Jacob Blake, and local social justice causes.
Green Like Envy – “Batvirus” single
I don’t know anything about these guys, other than the assumption (based on who listens to them on Spotify) that they are from Sweden.
The Last Mile – II single
Montreal’s The Last Mile released their new, two-song single II on 07 Aug 2020.
Make It Stop – “Transformando a Consciência em Força” music video
on 19 Aug 2020 Brazil’s Make It Stop released a video for their song “Transformando a Consciência em Força.” That track is off of their forthcoming EP Sobrevivência. FFO 80s style hardcore/thrash.
Private Function – Whose Line is it Anyway? album release
28 Aug 2020, Australia’s Private Function released their new album Whose Line is it Anyway via Damaged Record Co. They also released a video for their song “Aldbury Wodonga” on 06 Aug. You can check out that video below, or hit the album title above to check out the full LP on Spotify.
Proof – Pick Your Poison LP
Portland’s Proof released their new LP Pick Your Poison on 15 Aug 2020.
Sakuren Zensen – “Pills” (Bo Diddley cover)
Japan’s Sakuren Zensen released a video for their cover of Bo Diddley‘s “Pills.” It’s fun (and funny), but that’s about all I got. Read Japanese, TGEFM could use you!
Stachel – Sollbruchstelle (demo) LP
Utrech, NL’s Stachel released their second “demo” album on 17 Aug 2020. Sollbruchstelle (demo) continues the band’s early-80s punk style to good effect.
Stupid Brick – “El Confidentay” music video
Welsh skatepunks Stupid Brick released a video for their 2018 track “El Confidentay.” In true fan-supported quarantine style, it features a boatload of people just rocking out. We need this kind of fun.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
