Militarie Gun is my sorta thing. I've really liked the hardcore power pop sound the band has cultivated over their early EP's and more recent singles. The newest single from their upcoming Life Under The Gun full-length is called “Very High” and it follows lead single “Do It Faster”. “Very High” also has a video that you can watch below.
“Very High” hits all the recent Militarie Gun high points. A deliberate stomp and drum hook? That's here. Rhythm guitars that turn into a memorable squall at the end of each line? That's here, too. A bass line that plays nice and even gets its own showcase for brief glimpses? Check and check. And the vocals, yelled in a catchy and melodic-not-melodic way, are gonna stay in my head long after the song ends. There's just something charismatic to the singing and phrasing that makes Militarie Gun stuff work for me. I highly suggest you listen to this one and keep tabs on what the band kicks out going forward. It's good.
