This is a side project of Erin MacKenzie from The Doped Up Dollies and Big D and The Kids Table bands. I am guessing “Rins” is taken from “Erin” without the “E”, but this is just my guess. This is a five piece band and I am not familiar with the other members, but Jon Ellis the bassists plays a sweet groove bass line which starts off the track nicely. Although there are horns in the song, it is less ska-ish with a little more rock feel. I would still call this a ska song, just not super-ska-y. The theme is about the grass is greener phrase and how it pertains to a relationship and although not superlatively in-depth, not too basic either. This is a pretty decent first song from this new project and I am looking forward to hearing their next release.
First Impressions are whiz-bang reviews of singles, 7″s, EPs, and LPs which are given a review after a single listen. This is a great way for TGEFM to showcase some of the releases which may not get a full review on their own.

Likes fine beer and cheap cheese. He has been a DJ, sound mixer for commercials and television, and currently designs motorcycle parts. He also has a habit of creating pastiche style cover songs and changing the chorus to incorporate “Jeff” or “Sorley.” (sigh… it’s true – Jeff)
