New Jersey’s The Spachoolas have a new pop punk single available called “Derby Kisses”. This new one is the first new music from the band in 2023, following up 2022 releases including Just The Fixins and Flippin Out. The song is available for digital purchase at the Bandcamp link below.
“Derby Kisses” has a ridiculous lead guitar right from the jump – it’s an earworm. The rest of the song has the basics of any good Ramonescore song – the same right-on chord progressions, the steadfast propulsive drums, and the melodic vocal leads that dig in. The chorus in particular nestles into my brain and gets me singing along before the song wraps. I figure fans of The Spachoolas will like this, and I like it a bunch myself. I’ve liked some of their stuff before, but this one hits a little different – my favorite yet. Check it out.
