Oakland Park, Florida pop punks Worn Out Trend have released their second single, “Worn Out Trend.” The song follows up last year’s “Vacation” and it’s available for purchase over at the Bandcamp link below. Technically, this song has been in rotation for a bit during live shows, and even appears as a live video over at their YouTube. But now we have a proper release.
“Better Way” lands fully into the bubblegum side of the pop-punk spectrum. It’s cleanly produced with very little fuzz or noise, and the bouncy/boppy bass line really anchors the whole thing. If I had one complaint, it’s that the solid rhythm section maybe overpowers the guitars a bit too much?
Overall, there’s a lot going on in such a short space of time, so you’ll come away fulfilled without being overwhelmed. They lyrics and vocals are fun and catchy, and the cadence of the delivery really adds to the “pop” of the track. It took just over half a year for Worn Out Trend to deliver their second single, let’s hope the third comes quickly!

First Impressions are whiz-bang reviews of singles, 7″s, EPs, and LPs which are given a review after a single listen. This is a great way for TGEFM to showcase some of the releases which may not get a full review on their own.
