In April the debut, solo album was announced from Joe Gittleman. You may know Joe from his 30+ years in The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and his most recent work in The Kilograms. Titled Hold Up, that album is due to release on 21 Jun 2024 via Bad Time Records.
Gittleman has since released “Plastered in the Rafters” and the title track “Hold Up” singles, and now we have “For the Love of Gino Mäder” as the third pre-release track, along with a music video.
If that name sounds familiar (maybe not… but maybe?), Gina Mäder was a Swiss road and track cyclist who died tragically in Jun 2023 at age 26 following an accident during the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse.

He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
