NYC’s GIFT, a combo of shoe gaze and quirky new wave, have delivered their first new music since their 2022 debut LP Momentary Presence (not including the 2023 Momentary Presence Remixes).
“Wish Me Away” the song is a catchy number and worth a listen in its own right. But the band go full bore with the video which is cinematic, odd as hell and, frankly, I’m here for it. The song is out via Captured Tracks, but no word yet on whether or not this is indicative of another album. Either way, worth the wait, and definitely worth your time.
Enjoy both videos below (the new one is first) and head to this handy link page for the regional Dedstrange stores, or visit GIFT’s Bandcamp.

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
