Green Day “Dookie” 30th anniversary Reviews

TGEFM editor Bad Dad and founder/head editor Jeff “the white drew carey” Sorley aren’t too far apart in age (especially at their age, all things considered), but they were definitely in two different places in their lives when one of the most important albums ever came out in the form of Green Day‘s Dookie in 1994. Bad Dad on the cusp of becoming a teenager, as well as his entry into the world of punk rock; and Jeff on his way out of his teenage years with quite a bit of time in the punk world’s trenches under his belt.

In some ways, both of them see this album differently and, in others, not so much. It is clear in their reviews, which are really more ruminations about the time and the place, and the band itself, more so than the album, that this was a significant time for them. We’ll let you decide which one you want to read first.
