Grim Deeds (aka- Dustin Umberger) has released a new EP, titled EP. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the Grim Deeds project is going to retire. Over the span of nine years, Grim Deeds has released a multitude of singles, EPs, and LPs… really too many to count (and I had the honor of also illustrating the cover for Only the Beast III).
To close things out, Umberger has released a brief message via the GD Bandcamp explaining the reasoning behind the retirement, and briefly touching on wrapping up loose ends on the Grim Deeds front. Not much information given as to the status of other projects, including the Laptop Punk Records label. TGEFM is reaching out for clarity on those.
In the meantime, check out the new EP and Grim Deeds’ farewell monologue below. TGEFM wishes the painted pop-punker a smooth ride into the sunset.
Grim Deeds music will, for the time being, live on over at Bandcamp.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
