Singer-songwriter Dave Hause (ex-Paint it Black, The Loved Ones) keeps the wheel turning, having released a new single “Benson & Hedges”. The track is a new version of a The Loved Ones song, and is the second Hause has released since his Blood Harmony LP dropped in 2021 (not including a bunch of live recordings), and follows up the single “I Swear” (also a The Loved Ones variation). Both recent singles use the same graphic of a dark background and a yellow key, which typically means these are part of a bigger release still to be announced (although I could be wrong).
Check it out below, and visit Dave’s official site, Bandcamp, or Spotify pages for more.
(this post has been updated with new information)
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
Both of the new tracks are re-records of The Loved Ones tracks, seems like maybe Dave was inspired by Taylor Swift:

Thanks for pointing that out. I’m not sure why that totally flew under our radar, other than things have been a bit hectic over here at TGEFM HQ!
