“We can’t progress without learning from past atrocities. Nationalists prefer to conceal these lessons, pandering to the hurt feelie-weelies of racists who unironically chastise historians as “snowflakes”.
– vocalist Tom West
UK melodic hardcore act Darko have a new music video for their song “Built on Broken Backs.” The song is off of their May 2024 Greyscale EP, and rips to shreds the common conservative belief that sweeping under the rug the bad parts of your national history is just a way to avoid growth. The video is comprised of live footage from their recent Canadian tour.
Greyscale is the second entry in their trilogy of EPs, following 2022’s Sparkle, and is out via Lockjaw Records and Thousand Islands Records. Find links for the album both purchase and streaming below the video.

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
