I’m not sure how I lost track of this, but SHAMES, out of 甲府市 (Kofu, Japan), have released a new EP. Titled Always be honest, it is five tracks of the melodic/skate punk that this band excels at.
SHAMES’ last proper studio album was 2016’s Rebirth, however they did contribute three songs to last year’s excellent four-way split Bridging Oceans; which also included Australia’s Nerdlinger, France’s Bare Teeth, and Canada’s Down Memory Lane.
You can stream Always be honest below and, if you dig it, pick up a digital copy or on CD via their Bandcamp. While you’re there, take a gander at their other releases, too? We know you have the time.

He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
