Jersey Interchange mastermind Christian Lesperance and former frontman of NJ ska juggernauts Right Turn Eddie joined Anthony Merchant on his Power Chord Hour Podcast and radio show to premiere the latest track and announce an upcoming digital EP to benefit the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. More information on release dates and the tracklisting will be forthcoming.
Jersey Interchange is a collective of Garden State musicians coming together to cover classic songs from the local punk, ska and hardcore scenes. This week, Josh Polhemus of Right Turn Eddie joins Jersey Interchange mastermind Christian Lesperance (Never Again) to record their version of “Casanova, Baby” by The Gaslight Anthem off of 2008’s classic The ’59 Sound.
Previous Jersey Interchange collaborations feature members of Bigwig, Folly, and Midtown among others covering the likes Misfits, Weston, and Lifetime.
The Power Chord Hour is a radio show that can be heard every Friday night at 10 est on 107.9 WRFA in Jamestown, NY. You can also find the podcast on Spotify or stream the station online.
Thanks to archivist Joe Pulito (Break Away, Slurp 37) doing the Lord’s work, you can find many of the original tracks along with the entire discography of the Jersey Interchange at the ultra-expansive NJPP Archives here.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
