Los Angeles’ The Manic Standstills, purveyors of punkified alt-rock (plus a bunch of other stuff) have released the first single from their upcoming, debut LP.
“Reasons Why” comes off of Moving. If you want more information than that, the best I can give you is that it’ll be out later this year via Wiretap Records and Double Helix Records. The when is a just “later this year.”
The band is the project of Adam Bones (Save Ferris, Richie Ramone, and more). As you can see in the video, he’s… uhhh… gathering a collection of likeminded musicians for to fill in along the way. OK, in reality, this track features Aixa Vilar and Michelle Rangel (Go Betty Go), and Kevin Preston (Prima Donna). Other musicians contributing to the album include The Dollyrots, and members of Billy Liar, The Aquabats, and more.
For now you can find “Reasons Why” streaming options at this link page. TGEFM will keep you up-to-date on more news on Moving when it gets here.

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
