LEGO enthusiast and punk rock fan Craig Darran has recreated southeast London’s iconic venue New Cross Inn in virtual LEGO. As someone who has spent a lot of time at NXI back when I lived in the UK, I will attest that it is pretty accurate.
Darran has recreated the exterior of the building, as well as the ground floor where the gigs take place, all the way up to that support post that blocks whomever is on stage left (and makes taking photos of said performer such a pain).
Per his Facebook post (which you can click to see more images), the total build would take about 3,600 real-world bricks.
Nice one, Craig!
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
