Greensboro NC’s LOWBORN have debuted a new single.
“Alone” was written following the absolution of a band member’s engagement late last year. Songwriter Wes explained the origin of the song in a Facebook post;
“I was in such a weird place, and honestly was more willing to stay in a relationship that had clearly failed than do the healthy thing because I was so afraid of what being alone again would look like. Almost a year later, I’m in a very different place and it’s almost weird listening back to this song and thinking about how rough the last few months of 2020 was.”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
