Chicago “90s radio rock” act Footballhead, originally the solo act Ryan Nolen, releases a new EP just five months after their Mar 2024 debut LP Overthinking Everything. The new release, Before I Die, is billed as a “mini-album” which, at seven songs long, kinda lives in that realm of “is it an EP or an LP?” Due to song length I went for the latter. As with the previous LP, it is mixed and engineered by Snow Ellet and mastered by Jesse Cannon (The Menzingers, Saves The Day, more).
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
