Mars Addict, Brazilian ramonescore punks, all with a healthy dash of sci-fi thrown in, have a new single, their first of 2023. Titled “The Vast of Night,” the track is directly inspired by the 2019 stylish low-budget indie hit film of the same name (it really is good, and all on a sub-$1m budget), about a radio DJ and switchboard operator in a small town in 1950s New Mexico trying to suss out just where that weird transmission is coming from and why are people seeing objects in the sky?!? Seriously, go watch it.
Back to Mars Addict, though: this is the band’s first new music since their 2020 Lamecoaster LP (read TGEFM’s review), and a welcome return of their street-punky take on ramonescore.
