Up-and-coming sludge-rock youngsters… (checks earpiece)… sorry, legendary sludge-rock act Melvins have announced a new LP in the works titled Tarantula Heart. The album is due out 19 Apr 2024 via Ipecac Recordings. Accompanying that announces is the new single “Working the Ditch,” which also comes as a music video.
An album so magical, I helped create it without knowing it was happening. It’s definitely the weirdest album I’ve ever been a part of.
Steven McDonald
The LP is touted as “the band’s most unconventional and imaginative work yet, but also some of their catchiest,” and features guest contributions from Roy Mayorga (Ministry) and guitarist Gary Chester (We Are The Asteroid).
Preorders for album on CD, digital DL, and three vinyl variants (including a a puke green celebrating Ipecac’s 25th anniversary) are available at this link.
Melvins will also be heading across the Pacific for a tour of New Zealand and Australia, and then up to Japan for three gigs. Find info on those shows below.
