The rotating line-up of Mikey and His Uke continue to provide hard-to-come-by breaths of fresh air as the world teeters on the verge of apocalypse. That positive influence comes courtesy of Mikey Hawdon of Fairmounts, his uke and his all-star collection of friends together virtually to perform some of the best covers from the scene. This time performing Operation Ivy‘s classics “Jaded” and “The Crowd.”
Hawdon is joined by a crowd of the biggest names in the scene including Tony Hawk, Fat Mike of NoFX, Stacy Dee of Bad Cop / Bad Cop, John E Carey Jr.of Old Man Markley, Pete Steinkopf of Bouncing Souls, Justin & Jesse Bivona of The Interrupters and a cameo from Op Ivy’s own Tim Armstrong.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
