As WBUR reports, Influential Boston Post Punk group, Mission of Burma, have officially disbanded. The band started in 1979 and released an EP, Signals, Calls, and Marches and a full-length, Vs., on the Ace of Hearts Label before breaking up, for the first time, in 1983. Mission of Burma re-formed in 2002 to only play a couple of reunion shows. With the success of those shows, Mission of Burma decided to re-form on a permanent basis.
Releasing several records on the Matador Records and playing shows around the world. The band, unknowingly, played their final show in Berlin in 2015 in support of their final album, Unsound, on Fire Records. After laying dormant for 5 years the band decided to call it a day on Thursday.
