Good Music To Avert The Collapse Of American Democracy is the recently announced 40-track compilation entirely comprised of previously unreleased new songs, covers, remixes, live versions, and unreleased demos from incredible artists across many genres including R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, Hayley Williams and Laura Jane Grace among others. The collection will be available exclusively for 24 hours only via Bandcamp this Friday, 4 September.
100% of the net proceeds from the album’s sales will go to Fair Fight, a voters rights organization that promotes fair elections around the country through voter education, election reform, and combating voter suppression.
The cover art was created by acclaimed artist Shepard Fairey. A limited-edition signed poster of the artwork will also be sold on Friday via Bandcamp, with net proceeds going to the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, Color of Change.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
