Garage rock act New Starts have announced their debut LP with their first single “Under the Striplights.” The track comes from More Break-Up Songs, due out 01 Aug 2024 (or 16 Aug, both dates are given and we’re working to clarify) via Fika Recordings. Per the Bandcamp listing for the album:
New Starts are a spikey, fresh sounding band recalling the poppier ends of new wave and angular guitar rock. Their influences include The Cars, Breeders, Bay City Rollers, The Velvet Underground and ZZ Top.
It’s fuzzy as heck and wouldn’t seem out of place dropping in the late-70s.
