After last month’s tabloid fodder/imbroglio, which I’m sure you’ve heard of*, the status of the new LP from Sweden’s No Fun At All was switched to “on hold”. Well, that seems to be over with now as the band has released a new single and lyric video from the upcoming album, and have announced that all, including tour dates, are now moving forward as scheduled.
The new track, “See the Splendor”, comes off of the upcoming Seventh Wave album, due out 14 Oct 2022 via SBÄM Records. Although the video info states that you can order the album via SBÄM’s web store, our search of the both the EU and US shops cannot find a preorder for the album. We’ve reached out the band and label on that, and will update this story as needed when we find out more.
*At the Aug 2022 Brakrock Ecofest, there was an incident between NFAA vocalist Ingemar Jannsen and Sick Of It All guitar tech Mei-Ling Koller. Surely you’ve heard of this? It was all over the news. Anyhow, it seems to be a she said/he said argument about who hit whom, and when said person(s) did or didn’t hit whomever. The best I can tell is that during NFAA’s performance, Ingemar ran backstage to change equipment, saw someone who appeared to be rooting through NFAA’s equipment (which was actually Mei-Ling working on SOIA’s equipment, which has been staged for prep where NFAA’s equipment had been). This is where it gets murky: SOIA’s camp says Ingemar struck Mei-Ling. NFAA’s camp claim Ingemar did physically push her away from the equipment, but did not strike her with his hands (presumably as a punch). Frankly, unless there is a video footage of the incident, and it is released, I think we’ll never know. From my understanding, impartial witnesses (mostly Brakrock stage crew) witnessed the event, and seem to back up NFAA’s version of events. In the aftermath, the SOIA fan army began posting threats against NFAA on social media and other forums, such as this:
Which is what presumably led to NFAA initially postponing all activities for the past month.
