The evil folk over at OUTLOUD! RECORDS are paying tribute to the best month/holiday ever with a tribute to the progenitors of horror punk. Each day for the month of October the label will drop a new single covering a track from a band in the Misfits family tree. All of the tracks are collectively part of the We’re A Fiend Family compilation, which is not for sale, but will be given away with all OUTLOUD! orders this month (and will be available upon request along with any orders thereafter).
So far Classic Pat‘s cover or “Long Way Back From Hell” (Danzig II: Lucifuge) has been released. And now we have from, 02 Oct, J Prozac (of The Prozacs) cover of “Ghouls Night Out” from Misfits‘ 1981 Three Hits From Hell 7″.
To hear all of the singles so far, check out the comp’s landing page on the OUTLOUD! Bandcamp HERE.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
