Edinburgh’s Paper Rifles have released the fifth song in the ongoing Lockdown Cover collection. For the next song the band covers “Let Me Sleep (Next to the Mirror)”, which comes off Idlewild‘s 2000 LP 100 Broken Windows.
Per a post on their Facebook page:
It’s pretty much impossible to have played in bands in Scotland and not have been influenced by Idlewild, and Captain will forever be the soundtrack to Jon’s move from Dundee to Edinburgh in the 90s. However, this song comes from the absolutely magnificent “100 Broken Windows”, a true masterpiece of melody, noise and melancholy.
