Long-running Chicago mainstays Pegboy made the decision to pull the plug on their West Coast tour at the last minute due to health-related reasons. Reinforcing the idea that bad things happen in Rockford (Illinois, that is), that’s about how far the band go on their way to Minneapolis, the first stop of the tour, when frontman Larry Damore got some bad news. As relayed via their social media:
Hey kids, We were on our way to Minneapolis and Larry got a call with results of his CT cardiac calcium scan and he has 50 to 70 percent arterial blockages in numerous locations and is probably going to need surgery. He went to the cardiologist last week and the doctor said he thought he could go, but now he just got these results. We have to postpone the whole fucking thing, and we’re devastated. If they can just do stents and not open heart surgery, he will be back fairly quickly and we can reschedule. Our heartfelt apologies to all the people that bought tickets, made travel plans, etc. All tickets will be honored for rescheduled dates, or contact your point of sale for refund information Well, we made it to Rockford. We are so fucking sorry, again. Thanks, Pegboy
TGEFM wishes Larry a quick recovery, and will let you all know when the band reveals the updated tour info. In the meantime, check out their music on Bandcamp or Spotify

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
