Featuring members of Braid, Hey Mercedes,The Promise Ring, Maritime and more, Fight Dice is a new supergroup that combines the elements of 90s-era heavy rock and post-punk with the fantastical adventures of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game. Think Record of Lodoss War but with music instead of books and animation.
The band, along with Forge Again Records, has announced their debut LP Total Party Kill will be due out on 20 Sep 2024, and have released the first single “Magic Pact,” along with preorders.
“Magic Pact” certainly sounds like the band is having a hell of a time, and good for them. It’s pretty rocking, a bit loose and dirty, but with some sweet lixx. Both tongue-in-cheek but also honest to the inspiration. There’s also a very lightly animated video along with the song on YouTube, which looks to primarily feature the band’s helmeted logo, and the album cover itself.
Preorders for the album on digital download and two vinyl variants are up at the Forge Again Bandcamp page.
