TGEFM is extremely excited to bring you the new single from Australia’s Nerdlinger!
Titled “Prognosis,” the track is a great taste of what the band is up to lately, flexing their chops with infectious and enjoyable melodic punk. Here’s what they have to say about the song:
Call it a premonition, coincidence or a forecast of impending doom, but weirdly enough this song and artwork for new Nerdlinger single ‘Prognosis’ were penned and commissioned well before the Australian Bushfires, US riots and everyone’s favourite disease of 2020 were even a thing.
Fast, melodic and energetic, reminiscent of the late 90s when skate punk bands were in the charts and you could still fall off a skateboard and not break your bones. If we’re going down in flames, Prognosis is all about raiding the mini bar on the way down.
Now, I’m an unabashed Nerdlinger fan, so I’d heartily agree with that statement. Following suit with the song’s theme, the cover art (by Jase Harper) features a delightfully bleak situation that neatly sums up just about everything right now.
Nerdlinger’s most recent release was the four-way split Bridging Oceans Vol. 1, an international collaboration which includes Bare Teeth (FR), SHAMES (JP), and Down Memory Lane (CA); and was released across four independent labels, including Australia’s PEE Records.
The official release date for “Prognosis” is July 31st (Australia) via PEE Records, at which time the track will enjoy full release across an array streaming services.
In the meantime, let’s find out what the “Prognosis” is…
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
