Oh golly. being a Chicago boy, there’s a certain something that the greater Chicago area (and that includes parts of Wisconsin and Indiana… don’t lie!) brings out in musicians that can’t be found anywhere else. That leads us to Masonic Wave, which features Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), bassist Fritz Doreza (Naked Raygun), drummer Clayton DeMuth (Sybris) and guitarists Scott Spidale (God Damn Your Eyes) and Sean Hulet (Land of the El Caminos)… a supergroup… if you will, is kind of a big thing.
And TGEFM is proud to premiere for you their new single and lyric video “Mountains of Labor.”
Part post-punk, part Chicago-style blue collar punk, all good. It’s pending, driving, and has a saxophone but isn’t ska. You’ll love it
The track comes from the band’s debut, self-titled LP, which is due out 12 Apr 2024 via War Crime Recordings, which can be pre-ordered/pre-saved over at this link page.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
