Premiere: Dive into the “Dark Beer Archives” with Little Low

Boston’s indie-punks Little Low are gearing up now for the 9 May release of Sunshine Guilt. The album featuring members of Beartrap, Save Ends and No Trigger and production from A Wilhelm Scream‘s Trevor Reilly, is available for pre-order now from Sell The Heart Records (U.S.), Thousand Island Records (Canada), and Waterslide Records (Japan).

That’s Good Enough For Me is thrilled to share the music video for lead single “Dark Beer Archives.”

Of the single, front person Christine Atturio explains:

“This song is about learning the hard way that when it comes to drinking there is a fine line between things being fun and things getting out of control, I’m always trying to find a balance in life, and it remains a constant struggle. But what I eventually realized was that at the end of the day, it’s always going to be on me. I can be my own best friend or my own worst enemy.”

“The line ‘never kept my elbow straight for long’ was inspired by a scene in the pilot episode of Cheers where the bar owner Sam Malone explains why he lost his career as a professional baseball player due to alcoholism. ‘I had an elbow problem…. I bent it too much,'”

While the song may have taken inspiration from a scene from inside the bar where everybody knows your name, “Dark Beer Archives” was shot inside O’Brien’s in the Boston neighborhood of Allston. Playing with the themes of balance in the song, the location marks the end and beginning of a Boston-area institution preparing for a new start: “O’Briens is a venue where a lot of mid- to small-size bands have played over the years. The bar is part of a redevelopment plan in the area which will include the new Great Scott location so we’re hoping our video will be a bit of a time capsule of OBs before it gets knocked down and rebuilt.”
